Get started with an organisation
An organisation is the business that owns your events, earnings, bank details, verification and payouts. Your team is the people you invite to help run it, each with a team role. Everything created in the organisation belongs to it, not to the team member who created it. Your personal events stay separate.
Create an organisation
You need an organiser account. If you don't have one yet, you are asked to complete organiser setup first.
- Open the workspace switcher at the top of any organiser page and select Create organisation. You can also select Organisations in the organiser menu.
- Step 1, Name and country: enter the organisation name (up to 160 characters) and choose its country, then select Continue.
- Step 2, Contact details: enter the contact email (your own email is filled in). A contact phone number is optional. Select Create organisation.
- Step 3, Invite team members: enter up to five email addresses, each with a team role, and select Send invitations. You can also select Skip for now and invite people later.
You become the organisation's Owner, and the organisation becomes your active workspace. You can create more than one organisation.
Finish setting up
The organisation overview shows Set up your organisation until each step is done. Select a step to go straight to it.
- Invite a team member
- Add the organisation bank account (Owner only)
- Send the verification document (only when Shows has asked for one)
- Create your first event
Switch between Personal and your organisations
The workspace switcher at the top of every organiser page shows where you are working: Personal or the name of an organisation. Open it to choose another workspace. Your choice stays in place as you move between pages.
While an organisation is selected:
- Events, tickets, add-ons, coupons, drafts, waitlists and booking referrals show that organisation's items.
- Your dashboard opens the organisation overview.
- Bookings and the order, ticket, add-on, transaction and payout reports open the organisation's Reports.
- Payouts opens the organisation's payouts.
- Analytics covers your personal events only, and offers Switch to Personal.
If your team role can't use a page in the selected organisation, you are taken to the organisation overview, which says so and offers Switch to Personal.
The organisation overview
The top of each organisation page shows its initials, name, your team role, its status and its organisation code. The tabs below it show only the sections your team role can use:
| Tab | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Overview | The setup checklist, upcoming events, team members and available balance (depending on your team role), event tools and the organisation's details. |
| Team | Team members, pending invitations and Invite team member. |
| Reports | Booking, transaction and payout reports with CSV and XLSX downloads. |
| Payouts | The available balance, payout requests and their status. |
| Bank account | The organisation bank account payouts are paid into. |
| Verification | Organisation verification requests from Shows and their status. |
| Settings | Organisation settings, the payout setting, organisation ownership, leaving and closing the organisation. |
Event tools
The Overview tab links to My Events, Created Tickets, Add-ons, Coupons, Event Drafts, Event Waitlists and Booking referrals. Each tool opens for this organisation. Tools your team role can't use are not shown.
Move a personal event into an organisation
- Switch to Personal and open My Events.
- Open the event's menu and select Transfer event.
- Choose the destination organisation, then select Transfer event and confirm.
You can move an event only to an organisation where your team role can create events. Events that already have tickets, add-ons, orders, refunds or payouts can't be moved this way. Contact support to request a transfer for those events.
Organisation status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | The organisation is active. |
| Suspended | Shows has suspended the organisation. Organisation management and new sales stop until access is restored. |
| Closing | The Owner has started closure. New sales, events and invitations stop while outstanding obligations are settled. |
| Closed | Closure is complete. Team members keep read-only access to historical reports. |
