Track bookings from referral links
Create a different referral link for each influencer, partner or person promoting your event. Each link has a name so you can see which source brought visitors and confirmed bookings.
Create and share a link
- Open your organiser event management page and select booking referrals for the event. You can also open /organiser/booking-referral and select an event.
- Select Generate link.
- Enter the person's or campaign's name, then generate the link.
- Select Copy link and give that link to the person promoting your event. A QR download is also available. On supported devices, you can share through the device's share menu.
Use a separate link for each source you want to compare. Your Public, Private and Expired events are available in the event selector. A private event's normal access restrictions still apply.
Understand the statistics
| Statistic | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Views | Valid referral-link visits, counted once per browser for that link each UTC day. |
| Checkouts | New checkouts attributed to the link, including unfinished checkouts. Payment retries do not add another checkout. |
| Bookings | Confirmed bookings, including free bookings. Unsuccessful payments are excluded. |
| Tickets and add-ons | Quantities included in those confirmed bookings. |
| Collected | Amount collected for attributed confirmed bookings. |
| Refunded | Amount refunded against those bookings. |
| Remaining | Collected amount less refunds, not your payout or profit. |
| Conversion | Confirmed bookings divided by counted views, capped at 100%. This is not a unique-customer rate. |
Amounts are kept separate for each currency. Open Details to see booking references, customer details, quantities, statuses and refunds. Summary counters are refreshed when you open the event's referral page or export its summary.
Rename or disable a link
Renaming changes the link's display name, not its URL. Existing bookings retain the name recorded when their checkout was created.
Disabling a link stops new attribution. It does not prevent anyone from booking, and it does not remove previous results or attribution already stored on a cart or checkout. You can enable the link again.
Export results
Download CSV or XLSX from the event referral page for a summary of its links. The Details window also offers an export of an individual link's confirmed bookings.
How attribution works
The latest valid referral link opened for an event is remembered for up to 30 days in the same browser. Opening the normal event link does not clear that source. Attribution is fixed when checkout is created, so payment retries do not switch the source.
Tracking depends on browser cookies. Changing browsers or devices, clearing cookies, or blocking them can affect results. A view is not necessarily a different person. Existing bookings are not assigned a source retrospectively.
Referral links do not change ticket prices, fees, commissions or payouts, and they do not pay influencers automatically. Invalid or disabled codes do not block normal booking.
