This guide explains what happens when you are placed in the lobby before entering a session, and how to use the host message option while you wait.
What you'll see
While waiting, the app may show:
- Waiting in Lobby
- Waiting for host approval...
- Host is at the event or Host is not yet at the event
- Message Host
- Hide Chat
- Login as Host
- Leave Lobby
Steps
- Join the session link as usual.
- If the session uses a lobby, wait on the Waiting in Lobby screen.
- Watch the status message showing whether the host is already at the event.
- If you need to send a message before entering, use Message Host.
- Type your message in the lobby chat and wait for a reply or approval.
- Stay on the lobby screen until you are admitted.
- If you no longer want to wait, use Leave Lobby.
What this means in practice
The lobby is a holding area, not a failed join. If you are there, the session link worked, but the host has not admitted you yet. You can still stay informed on that screen and, when available, message the host privately.
The host may already be active, or may not yet be in the session. The lobby screen reflects that difference so you know whether you are simply waiting for approval or waiting for the host to arrive as well.
Limitations to know
- Being in the lobby does not mean you can control when you enter.
- The host decides when to admit or decline waiting participants.
- If the host is temporarily unavailable, you may still be able to leave a message.
Common mistakes
- Refreshing the page repeatedly instead of waiting for approval.
- Closing the page and assuming the host declined you.
- Not using Message Host when you need to explain why you are waiting.
If something isn't working
- If you are waiting longer than expected, use Message Host if it is available.
- If the lobby screen remains open but nothing changes, stay on the page and wait for approval.
- If you entered the wrong session or need to leave, use Leave Lobby.
- If you are actually the host, use Login as Host from the lobby screen.
